Chemical Etching:
Chemical etching is an old metal decoration technique. This is the controlled removal of the surface layer of material from the workpiece, under the action of specially selected chemicals. ” Often used by gunsmiths of the Middle Ages. Etched gunsmiths replaced one of the labor-intensive processes - manual engraving.
Etching is applied to a relief or in-depth ornament, text or plot on any metal. Today, etching is carried out both by chemical and galvanic methods. Galvanic is simpler: the electrolyte solution does not emit harmful gases, unlike the chemical method.
